My arrangement of this tune. D tuning capoed to E. I do like the bluesy stuff.

There's a very unusual kind of faithfulness to the original concept of the song (that I only know about courtesy of an early HL on YouTube.) I can't quite put my finger on it other than to say the original was not as down and dirty as many of the covers that were to follow. Yours captures the feel of the original.

I don't suppose you have a tab for this? I love this song and your arrangement is great!

This is an excellent version of a classic. Did you ever publish a tab for your arrangement?

I’ve been looking at a version that I could follow, considering how differently people cover this tune. The CClearwater, Johnny Rivers’ versions are nice enough. Willie Watson’s was my favorite with his very strong voice.
No way I would want to try to emulate Leadbelly, the patron saint of this song, but this version really captures what I think I can play. Great love to all the people in Banjo Hang Out.
