Nice tune peter, who was playing the mando with you?

that's Ian Tritt on mando- he's great! also handy on fiddle, guitar, clawhammer banjo, tin whistle and others instruments.

my goodness what a sweet tune that is! :D
almost as good as The Muse (and I thought all this even before I became inadmissible as a witness).

Nice, thanks. If you were playing that in O.T., then the patterns would be...different. My favorite OT 3-finger player, who plays akin to Kinney Rorer, Charlie Poole...I can't verbalize the difference. Can you? Like, could you do the same tune in O.T. style, 3-finger? Or is the tune structured for BG only. I'm just asking academic question I guess. There's a different kind of drive.

i haven't studied o t 3 finger at all so i'm not use for you on this question! i'm finding the notes melodic style which happens to work out easily in this weird tuning. i had to learn new chord shapes quickly to vamp behind the mandolin

thanks Laurence. i was doodling in C minor tuning and came up with it somehow. foreign tunings ( to me) get me out of old habits.
