Well played, but I'm not sure I like the violin playing, which sounds like just that to me, not like fiddling.

I think I know what you mean. For me, the idea wasn't necessarily to exemplify a typical "old-time" sound per se (though I realise I did select that category). Also, the violin player knew the tune as played in the Irish tradition while I learned it from an American recording which escapes my memory at the moment so there was a fair bit of negotiating going on. In any case, I hope to hear to more criticism/suggestions for further recordings.

Simply spellbinding. I play with a reformed Irish Bar fiddler, so I was comfortable with the "violin" part.

Funny i found this while googling Childgrove which i discovered recently (and love) in the Tab Bonanza from RSB on my harddrive... All afternoon today i was working it and Sally in the Garden back and forth... they sure do sound great together!
