Genre: Fiddle/Celtic/Irish / Playing Style: Clawhammer and Old-Time

Written by Steve Earl. This is one where I just let the old Zoom Recorder run and took what I got. I hope to do this in our band soon. I love how the fiddle works with this song when I heard Steve's version. I guess this is an Irish tune then, Eh? I didn't know I could do Irish.

Steve Earl is a great source of old-sounding-yet-new material. this one sounds great with banjo, I think you are doing everyone a favor adding it to the repertoire. Almost sounded like melodic picking on the intro, though I think you are playing CH throughout. Enjoyed it!

Thanks guys for your encouraging comments.

To Laurence: Not much gets by you my friend. Indeed I'm 3 finger picking the intro with pickless fingers. Also...Really nice job on Airmail Special. Do you play in any kind of band that does this kind of music with you playing banjo?

To Liam: I didn't expect to reach Ireland with this tune. The internet sure makes it a small world doesn't it. Thanks so much for writing. What a pleasure it must have been to see Steve Earl live. I have just heard and see him through Youtube. Way to get into the game putting your posts up. I'll be following your progress. You've already done very well with the Bluegrass 101 tunes. Keep up the good work.

To Tom: No sir, but I swear it is in my other 3 finger pickin' pants that I left at home. Problem is...I don't have the "double thumbing" endorsement yet. I will be looking to get that some day. Thanks for saying that you think I was frailing. That means it was close to what I was trying for. I'll be listening for your next post.
