Of all the other Dixies in the archive yours is the tops. That is exactly how it should be played. Note for note. It sounds as though you might be in "open" D that is with the fifth and third strings tuned to f# the first and fourth to Dmaj and the second tuned to Amaj. That is most likely the original tuning since it is the best tuning for a minstrel or fretless banjo. But I could be wrong, after all I have a tee shirt that has the motto; "I make things up" Very nice playing!
