This very rare banjo was marketed by Dobson. It had a perforated tone ring patented by A. C Fairbanks. There are photos of this one on my homepage.

This old banjo had surprising tone. The neck was lightweight. It was not a great "player". But I really liked the sound of it.
I sold it on ebaY during my banjo tradin' period....
