The Honking Tree

The Honking Tree Lay by the side of the road
For all to see
A victim of someone’s idea of fun
And stupidity

Honking tree will live in our memories
The White Pine will always will be there for me

It happened one April night, no one in sight
To see
A chainsaw rang through the air
Then the vandal ran from the scene

Charlie Hensley loved that tree
Charlie Hensley was not around to see
The chainsaw cut down

Nice tune Greg. Lot of history behind that tree and it's a tragedy what happened. Thanks for sharing with us.

Greg, your song does tribute to the  Registery Tree and  places the attention on the Vandals' inability to think this action thru, Lets hope for a terminally fouled spark plug,as the tree would be standing due to the Vandal's disinterest in working. Elwood
