Messin around again - after reading dairmuids posting I've attacked my bridge - it's made a slight difference to the sound, but still not sure I'm getting a true representation from the PC microphone.. any comments on the sound / setup / improvement welcome. - using a 5/8 grover 3 leg bridge (a 1/2 bridge is too low)

well played, youre getting a really nice tone from your banjo.
that banjo is sounding clearer as well...have you tried tightening the thumbscrew on the tailpiece (if there is one) so that the side of the tailpiece nearest the bridge is nearly touching the head? that and tightening the hell out of the head make it more trebly and the opposite will make it more mellow.
