I was rummaging through my music collection and found a recording of some unknown guitarist playing Bill Cheatham. I played along on banjo. I can't do justice to this tune on solo banjo, but it sounds half-way decent with some good accompaniment. Banjo is an old Whyte Laydie with Lo Gordon's neck.

Awesome, J-Walk! When are you recording your first album?

You really need to update that "Novice" experience designation. It's way past due.

Dude, that was fine. Really chugs along nicely, like it s'posed to. Neat trick, did the guy pick any other tunes? Let's hear 'em!

Sounds good. Like the sound of the banjo. Does it have a skin head on it?

I agree with Don that it "chugs along nicely" -- bouncy and with feeling. I am going to try this one. Nice instrument collection by the way.

Thanks. Mike. I just realized that I recorded this three years ago. I could probably play it even better now. Or maybe not.
I just picked up from listening to the unknown guitar track. I'm going to see if I can find that recording and track down the unknown guitarist.

That unknown guitar player is David Leinweber, from an album called "Simple Songs and a Box Guitar." I only have the one track, and it has no MP3 tags. I found the artist by searching Amazon for the song title and then sampling every one that might be it.
