Art Horan (Roll Player) was at my house last week for a short session of bridge "fiddling". I kind of "blind sided" him while he was here and asked him to play my Fender FB-58, on which I had installed a Dam Fir bridge that I had built. We were in the backyard, the wind was howling and I captured this, using my Fostex MR-8 and the built-in microphone. I think the roll off of the high end is a function of the microphone. The banjo is quite a bit brighter in real life. Art asked me to add a little disclaimer that he wasn't prepared for this and would have practiced if he knew I was going to record it.

Sorry Eddie,
It's not real clear in my post that it isn't me that was playing that banjo on this recording. It is my exceptionally talented friend and bridge test partner, Art Horan. Like I said, I surprised him when I jerked out my recorder and made this recording. I think he did an outstanding job, considering the fact that caught him off guard with this.
