New neck awaiting final sanding. 25.5" scale length, slender (and eccentric) profile. From this angle it looks like it would make a good canoe paddle.

Is this similar to the one you're building for me?
PS- I love Sarah Jarosz too...

Corky,
It is roughly similar. Yours will have a more refined peghead shape (still a paddle, but a better paddle), more laminations on the heel (stronger, plus I think better looking) and a traditional five string bump (unless you want five full-length strings). The fingerboard on yours will be slightly thicker because you want a scoop.
This is my favorite banjo neck. I play it all of the time, and my buddy Frebazak fell in love with it and I'm making one of out chery for him.
BTW, I am working on your neck right now. I just took a break for lunch and to check my email. I'm working on four necks plus a new instrument stand at the same time (working on one project while the others are in the clamps) so I am making a lot of progress overall plus substantial progress on each item.
My bandmate Christina and I just worked out the Sarah Jarosz version of "Shankhill Butchers" (me on guitar, Christina on vocals) and it's our new favortie song. It's going in the play list at our next gig.

Five string bump is good.
Agh, Sarah.
