Jim Yates |
The first group I played in, a Kingston Trio clone, circa 1960. l. to r. -Jim Cox, Gary Yates, me. Jim's playing a Harmony tenor with a bakolite (sp?) pot. He got a five-string soon after this picture was taken. Gary and I got guitar upgrades as well.

Great shot...and a great era! Is that Jimmie Cox the banjo maker? Check out my photos...the "Talismen"

I had that Life cover on my bedroom wall for a while when I was a kid. Great shot of the Talismen too, John. This Jim Cox is a retired college prof who now sings and plays guitar.
Gary is a retired school teacher who now plays guitar and Autoharp and sings with his family and a choir in Ottawa. There`s a picture of him on my picture page.
Gary and I still sing Jesse James, one of the first songs we ever performed on stage, when the family gets together.
