I took my husband's 911 targa (82) to my banjo lesson. When I was leaving, I couldn't figure out which way to put the stick in reverse. I had to call my husband and ask (in front of my instructor) who was laughing hysterically.
I finally got it but was red-faced over it. I think all shift knobs should have a shifting diagram printed on top for us lame old ladies who can't figure it out. (or get an automatic)
