Pretty. Do you know who the original maker is/was?

Kevin, I have not been able to find any help about origin or Maker of the instrument. I bought it for $40 bucks and spent $26.31 on parts to restore it, and if I say so myself it turned out great. The only information I have found that lined up with the possibility that it was a late 1800's banjo was the half moon inlay on the neck...it is said that sometime in the late 1800's there was an eclipse of the moon, similar to what we had a couple of weeks ago, and people of that period commemorated that event by putting those half moon inlays in the necks of their instruments. Anyway I am still searching.

Well you got a great bargain and did a nice job on the restoration. I've restored a few old banjos myself, and I always feel as if I've brought a once-living thing back to life and get a charge out thinking who may have last played the instrument before being left for dead.

Oops, posted twice, can't figure out how to delete the second. Sorry!
