The wear on the back of the resonator: did that come from Reno's play of the instrument or come from later play?

Don Reno and Don Wayne both played this banjo a lot. So it came from both of them. Don Wayne told me Don actually preferred this one over the fancier gold plated one. In fact he said Don used it to record the Feuding Again album with Arthur Smith.
