It just slides on like a Vega Style Bracket band. The rim is undercut by 1/8" and then the band will seat on the ledge. This is actually my conversion hoop that I build to convert resonator banjos to open backs but some of my customers request this style of bracket band on a new open back as it cuts out a considerable amount of weight to the finished banjo compared to using a Vega style of bracket band
