It's around Christmas, judging by the decorations at the front door.

You've got a lovely home Paul, it looks wonderful.
Who wouldn't want a lovely home in Canada...!!

Thanks! It's one of the smaller homes in the neighbourhood. It's nice enough, in a good setting, but not without problems that are costing us a fortune. I actually liked the tiny two-storey house we had in Toronto much better. It was small but energy-efficient, and we didn't own, or need, a car. It was two blocks from the subway and I cycled everywhere, too.
One difference here is that we get deer in the back yard (and front, and side). In Toronto we had city animals: squirrels, raccoons, and skunks.
Canada for sure! Eastern Ontario has a lot of history, being United Empire Loyalist country. I was born and raised in Montreal, whose recorded history goes back even farther, but not, of course, nearly as far as yours.

Thanks, Nancy! You've seen the inside, at Christmas.
It's way bigger than the place we had in Toronto, but size of our Toronto home meant we weren't buying crap to fill it.
Since we got the dog, we haven't seen deer. The dog chases the squirrels and chipmunks.
