The inlay is elegant yet not overbearing. The fingerboard is radiused, action is very smooth, and the neck feel is very comfortable.

is the 5 string going through the neck or does it travel all the way on the outside ?

Dave, the photo doesn't do a good job of showing it, but the 5th string is not tunneled. That makes the neck a bit wider at the first 5 frets, but hardly noticeble for me as I play guitar in addition to banjo. This is one very very fine neck! Smooth and very comfortable. If you click on the photo, a larger photo will appear and perhaps you can see how the string follows right up the neck to the tuner.

does it still have something on the 5th fret to make a drone ? It looks good though, i showed Tom my telecaster banjo at a festival last month, he seemed to enjoy playing it
