Yo Joe... checking our yer Homepage after reading your comments... see you have done a bit o' playing as a "professional"... and must be nice to be "retired" ... me, still working full-time at age 63... sheesh!
Anyway, almost bought this 'jo from the Twelfth Fret (Canadian)... and actually odered a Walnut Phantom from Armado Zupper... but returned it because of some cosmetic issues. Anyway, settled on a Romero custom... but always wondered about the Nechville. Yours is a beautiful piece and would guess it has a warm, full tone. WHich tone ring does it have and do you use those "tone beads" or whatever they are called to vary the brightness?

Hi Kenelk. My Nechville has the timbertronic tipped tone ring in it and yes, you use the Spheres to turn the head for tightness. As of yet i have not altered my tone as i like it straight out of the box. due to the wooden tone ring the banjo does have a warm sound but still maintaines a bell like sound, very silky and an ideal melodic style banjo. Hope this helps and good luck with your playing, Joe.
