Oh, man! I love the green bass! My husband plays bass and his is UGLY next to this one! Did it come like that or did you guys paint it? I could paint my husband's when he's asleep. Maybe better not . . . ;o\

Hi Madeleine, This bass was made for my grandson by my brother who has been a carpenter all his life. We just love it and you can imagine the wonderful comments we get whenever Levi takes it out. It actually isn't painted - it is stained with the most beautiful green stain and then lacquered with about 3 coats of lacquer. It is just the most beautiful thing ever! My nephew made a blue stained one at the same time while his Dad, my brother, made this green one. Levi had no idea that my brother made it for him and we slipped it into the case that our old brown bass originally was in. So when Levi opened the case there was the green bass. He is a very shy boy and very quiet - he has a mild case of Tourette's. He didn't say anything as he took it out but we all knew how excited he was. For months he would play it with red gloves on with the fingers cut out so he could polish it with the gloves after he played! He is 6 foot 2 inches now and towers over the bass. We took it to the family reunion this past weekend where our family band plays and it got another work out. Levi is sooooo good on that bass - it always surprised me when we'll be playing along and he throws in a new lick. He loves to play breaks, too, and that is sure fun. Thanks for the comment. God bless.

Hi Cotton-eyed Joe! I just now saw this comment you left back in 2010! If I did see it and commented I may have just forgotten. Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the picture. God bless.

Madeleine, you can also see some other pictures of Levi's bass if you go into my photo section. When the sun hits that shine it is spectacular.
