Re-Wired 12V Outlet

Posted 6/30/2010 7:59:13 PM

I removed the 18-gauge wire from the rear compartment 12V outlet and re-wired it with 12-gauge wire in order to pull more juice through the outlet to run my power inverter at full potential. I also hardwired the outlet to the battery so I can use the outlet even without the key in the ignition. The square near the 12V outlet is a red lamp rocker switch I installed to turn power to the outlet on/off. I quick spliced the ground from the 12V outlet to the switch ground and used a 1/4" ring terminal to ground the wire to a nearby bolt.
