This is my latest banjo. It initially was a tenor banjo that I got to play Irish songs, but since it had a 12" pot and arch top style tone ring thought it would be good as a five string. It had a short scale neck on it (see pics). I had a five string neck added by Neil Turner of Buzzard Mountain Instruments. I intended to learn to play clawhammer with it, but have been using it for Scruggs style. The tone ring adds some punch, and the light weight is nice. I have since added a homemade resonator which gave it a little more volume and a sharper sound.
