Taken on Howe Island in July 2005, on my old Bianchi rustbucket. Howe Island is accessible by cable ferry. The western end of the Thousand Islands is at Kingston. Howe Island is part of the Frontenac Islands township. Hal Cain snapped this right after taking one of a sign pointing to "Pierre".

Yeah, that colour (you can see traces in the lettering and the handlebar tape) is what Bianchi calls "celeste" green, apparently named after a queen of Italy a long time ago. It became their trademark colour. That bicycle now resides in the garage of friend Andy.

I have a Bianchi Volpe touring bike. Maybe because it's not an actual racing "velo", Bianchi says it's "sea-foam green. No Queen Seafoam to my knowledge.

The Volpe is a great bicycle! The first ones came out in '86 and were the first of what we now call hybrids. I still have the magazine that did a review of it. The original Volpe had drop bars. I liked the idea so much, I converted my Cyclops into the same thing - a bicycle with moderately wide tires (cross tires) that you could ride on paved roads, dirt roads, and trails. I bet your Volpe is Celeste green.
