John,
That is my second interpretation of a Brazilian Cavalquinha. It is somewhat like a steel string version of a Uke. Normally they are a flattop instrument but I wanted to see what an arch top would do. It made it a stronger voiced instrument than the flattop but not quite as sweet. It is tuned like a banjo but one octave higher.
