I have a similar instrument but no maker identified. My research seems to indicate it was called a Banjar having a banjo neck with the 7th string, My instrument is also fretless. I was told that these are sometimes called classic banjo's and there are certainly various tunings for them.
Michael Nix was very helpful and gave me this information "Your UK style seven string banjo is indeed tuned as you have surmised: G G C D G B D. I have attached a tutor for your instrument published in London by Herbert J. Ellis. I am still looking for more published historical music for the extended range instrument. Please let me know if you run across any folios in your part of the world.
I tune mine in many different tunings to facilitate my arrangements and compositions. While keeping an eye on the past, I'm working on new ways of using the instrument.
You can access videos through my solo website NixWorks.com,
and at my ensemble's site: PioneerConsort.com
and youtube.com/pioneerconsort
More on classic banjo score pdf's can be found at this website: classicbanjo.com/
Mine is in original condition I'll take some pics and post them later hope this is helpful, I also have a lot of information for George Paradice Matthews from Census records
Good luck with you Banjar = I have yet to get to grips with mine.
