The great standard microphone at the time. The EV-664 was described as being really tough and "could double as a blackjack or a hammer" if the need arose! We had one at my school which we never used because the cable was missing. I should have offered to buy it - I always wantd one. Things like that are being saved to use as movie props now.

We always worked around one "Mike". Lead vocal and Guitar front and centre, harmony would lean in as appropriate. Instrumentalist stepped in as the vocalist(s) got out of the way. We'd "bob and weave" just as we saw old time bluegrass groups do.
That got a lot of use between 1967 and 1970
