Wow! My favorite tone ring in an internal resonator. Can you describe how this banjo sounds John? I never seen an IR model with a bracket band. I bet the sound would be terrific although weight would certainly be a factor.

This is the banjo I used on the Carry On John CD. Check out the sound samples on my website.
Re: a bracket band. these IR rins are thin. The outer wall is two-ply maple. It would be really thin if you removed enough material at the bottom for a bracket band. I' mot sure if it would be too thin or not. It might work great...who knows?...but would be a complicated build for sure.
