Willie and Don at the original Shakey's Pizza Parlor at 57th and J streets, Sacramento around 1956. Willie is the one who told me . . . "We don't always have to play this 5ƈ" stuff, we could play anything we want to". Willie opened up the world to me by teaching me things like "Oklahoma Medley", "Student Prince Medley", "Excerpt from Carmen". We even put together "Beethoven's Fifth Symphony". Don't ask me to play it now though. That was a long time ago!

What a great photo and story. I lived in Sutter Creek in the 70's and spent a lot of time in Sact'o, but was unaware of the Shakey's history.
