David, I received my Buckhorn, and it is a beautiful and well made banjo. After a little set-up it`s sounding great as well. I noticed one thing different between our two banjos, which is the resonator. Yours is a two piece back like my Bighorn and my Buckhorn is one piece. Strange, but it does not appear to have been changed.

Congratulations Doug ! I'm glad to see that you bought the Flatiron for the right reason. Because you love it and not for what it may be worth down the road. I'm sure that it will bring you much pleasure. My Buckhorn has as you noticed a "book matched veneer" on the resonator. Do an online search to learn a little about the technique. I always assumed that all the Buckhorns had this type of veneer. Now I know otherwise. You may be the only person with both a Buckhorn and a Bighorn. Enjoy !
