I thought I would experiment making a tone ring out of some bits of steel bar a square section ring with a flat section welded on. The dowl through the pot is square steel tube which I welded onto a tee bar that is imbedded down the legth of the neck, The idea was to make it strong enough to survive a journey in my old car and/or being thrown down the stairs.
