I am building a log cabin about 45 minutes from my house. Got the deck/front porch almost finished this summer, should get the cabin finished this next summer. Have been drying logs for 3 summers now so they are ready. I put built-in benches on the deck/front porch so it is easy to sit and play banjo or guitar. For anyone in the neighborhood we could have a nice cabin-raising jam sometime in late July or early August of 2009!

Looks good Scott-even though I'm in England I built a 3 level cedar deck and shingled roof porch on the back of my house which is close to the South Down's(a beautiful 100 odd miles long rolling ridge/escarpment on the South coast of England-its proving a very popular spot to have friends round for a few tunes or just a beer and a chinwag on.... As I'm sure yours will be too! And of course I had to make a swing bench from the offcuts left over....
