The last time I was at Fraley's Festival was about 30 years ago (yikes). J.P. picked up my $15 cheapie fiddle at about midnight and then played it all night long with us youngsters. I recall that he especially liked to impress the the young women. I went to see J.P. in May this year with Erynn Marshall & Chris Coole. He was in very tough shape, but we played him a couple of his tunes, and some tears came to his face. He lovingly held Erynn's fiddle in his hands and positioned it as if He could still play. I'm glad to hear that the festival is still going on. Have a great time this year!
