youll have to let us know how that works out. i used to build bows out of osage orange. in bow lengths it is very hard to work with but in my mind there is no better bow wood. a shame to think that so many people down south use it for fence posts. as time goes by it will change from a freshly cut electric yellow to eventually almost black.

Tell you what Steve. I didn't see any problems with it the way it turned out. He's got enough of the slow growth annular rings supporting the strings, I don't think there will be a splitting problem. Most pickers, unless they have a very heavy anchor when they pick, wouldn't be able to control the echo that developes with this narrow a footprint.
