'Drowsy Maggie' with all three parts is sweet. My new discovery, Celtic D "modal" tuning or Dm9 tuning, is perfectly suited for D and E Dorian tunes such as 'Drowsy Maggie', as well as for tunes in the Aeolian and Mixolydian modes. This tuning makes is great for fretting-hand Celtic ornamentation, with so many notes falling on open strings, making grace notes simple. Capo up two frets, play it steady and make every note, grace note and triplet count.
