Linda, is your banjo a short-scale by Chuck Lee? If so please tell us what that scale is. I'm having a neck built at present and the banjo will have a 23-7/8" scale.

According to Chuck in one of his posts in Banjo Building Setup and Repair: All of his G-scale banjos are 25.5 scale length. Hope this helps!

Thanks Linda. Apparently there is no set definition for an "A" scale, as the dimensions vary greatly. The one I have now ('22 Fairbanks-Vega Tu-ba-phone) has a 24-1/2" scale and I wonder now if there is a point where you might define a banjo as "travel" or even a banjeaurine.
