She was mine. My wife had bought a female, we had her bred. Her puppies were born on the 4th of July. They were born in twos, each pair an hour apart. The eighth one we could not get to breathe. We sold them all except one male, who had one eye that did not develop. My female was about 1 year old at the time, and she kind of nannyed the pups. Corgies were cattle herding dogs bred in Wales, although smaller now than originally. Great pets, very in tune with the master. When my pet was about 9 she developed a degenerative nerve condition of the spinal chord, and gradually lost control of her back legs. I bought a wheelie for her, but she banged into things in the house, had a hard time napping "downhill" and we had to carry her down the steps to the outside and we were afraid we would drop her, or fall ourselves so finally had her put down about 2 years ago. The one male my wife kept is a remarkable corgi, even the vets are surprised how friendly he is. Corgis are usually attached to the master, and kind of snippy toward others. I know exactly what you mean about running the house.
