When I was 3 years old, Joe and his son Perry played at my sister's wedding reception. Changed my life. He was magical. I have an unopened album with Joe and Jack Connors ( mariba) magical sounds. Do you know anything about his son Perry. Last I heard, he was playing Vegas..( years ago)
Also have great respect for John Becker from St. Louis.

I first met Perry about 15 years ago at a Banjo Jubilee in San Jose, CA. When he introduced himself I asked him if he was related to Joe Shirmer. I sent Perry the above photo of his Dad which I took in 1965 while I was performing for The Red Garter Club located in the Wisconsin Pavilion. I haven't been in touch with him since then. If you do find him , let me know where he is? thanks. Dave Marty
