Second night after returning from Blue Ridge Banjo Camp, I caught my right little finger on the kitchen counter overhang in a fast and sharp upward movement, fracturing the fifth metacarpal. It was a spiral version of a "boxer's fracture." Not quite two weeks later, I had surgery, resulting in three screws to put the bone back into alignment. That was just three days ago as I write this.
