Dave used a Compact 60 AER rechargeable acoustic amplifier, which now costs $1,999, made in Germany. The amp was MUCH cheaper 20 years ago. The amp plugs into the wall to recharge (no replaceable battery). Tommy Emmanuel uses the same amp, but using corded power (for about $500 cheaper). These amps were specifically designed for acoustic instruments. However, the amp weighs 29 pounds!
