Seventh variation on descending D to G melodic lick. This one is strictly a scale pattern. I put it last because to me it?s the least satisfying in this context. The literal scale phrase doesn?t seem to me as musical as variations 1 and 2 in the first group. They make different use of the C or E note midway through the phrase and just sound more pleasing.
