Tubaphone No. 9 (Style X No. 9 conversion)

Posted 2/23/2008 2:59:13 PM

This is my new Tubaphone No. 9. Ain't she a beauty? It's actually a Style X No. 9 tenor converted by Liberty Banjo in the early 1970s to a 5-string (No. 9). Has a 11-13/16" pot, original armrest, and vintage Planets. Came with a pie-plate resonator, but sounds best without it.

Gorgeous! I have owned two 10-1/2" Tu-ba-phone pots with 24-1/2" scale necks by Wyatt Fawley; both outstanding frailers.
