What is the story on these picks? They look too pretty to use!!
Would they make me sound like Earl and like Doug Dillard if I bought a set and used them?

They are impossible to use. The engraving drags on the strings, but worse the bands are too thick. You can't put your fingers close enough together. IF it wasn't for these two problems they would be great -- they are sterling silver and produce a very nice tone. I bought them off of ebay as a conversation piece, and that's about all they are good for.

My sister had a set of sterling silver picks made for me a couple of years ago.....very servicable..and great tone..I love 'em

Rounded at the sides. They maybe good for dobro picking.. I loose my picks If I go background with banjo picks. If your wondering why I loose my picks see this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP_p5dd6Ifs So I used cheap glue, rubber ciments. Put some inside the picks then let it dry. Once dryed, I put them on then I dont loose them picks. Sometimes they go flying and their tought to find.
