I love the sound of it. Gibby fans may not enjoy the overtones and sustain because IMHO it takes away some of the punch you get with the Gibsons. However, it suits me just fine.

I know when Snuffy Smith set my Red Fox he commented on the nice decay of tone which I suppose means that there are not a lot of overtones? I'm new to banjo set up jargon. He put on his head which is not as thick as the Ludwig that Geoff uses. I don't know if that affects decay...also he put on a Snuffy Smith bridge style III 11/16. Mine is an '03 w/o a Pass rim; one of the last production Stellings to not have one put in. It was made in Aug and Pass rims were installed routinely beginning in Oct.
