Dan Knowles has built me man fine banjos and rebuilt a Master Model F5 but never a guitar..., until now. It has been in the hopper for 18 months but is nearing completion. Pick guard will go on soon and final set up after setting under tension a couple weeks to settle down structurally. The top is from Martin and at the time was considered as 2nd material due to bear claw graining. This is fashionable today and the old wood top is very responsive. Sides and back are quarter sawn oak. The back is three piece with roasted fiddle back maple center boarding. Bride pins are carved bone and nut/end pin fossilized walrus tusk ivory.

Tim it has taken a bit longer than expected; but is turning out well. Dan called just before leaving town on vacation to play it for me. He said it has tonal character similar to an old 00 Brazilian rosewood guitar he let get away some years ago. Should be a fun piece and should show up before long after a final set up....
