I'd guess that it isn't the original Stew-Mac neck, although it was fairly common for folks to modify the Gibson style 'fly-swatter' head a bit. The truss rod cover (if that is actually what it is) would lead me to believe that if isn't the original neck. My late 70's kit has the newer style headstock shape but I'd rather had the flyswatter. My nephew has had my Stew-Mac for the last 15 years or so---going to get it back on my next trip to Illinois. I miss it......
