Somebody right here on the HangOut described cutting long triangular "Tails" so as to be able to use a MYLAR (TM)drum head as a TACK-ON banjo head. I figured I'd do something similar, only I'd epoxy the material to the inside of an embroidery hoop. Then, when the epoxy is dry, I'll CLAMP the hoop down to tighten the head, and put small screws through the hoop to told it permanently in place. If it works, the parts were cheap enough. And if it doesn't work out, I've learned something, for under $10. I just left the aluminum ring from the drum to show it was a pretty big head to start with.
