Carrier board. The alignment line (down the length) is created by mating the carrier board to the rim template, then drawing a line through the center point of the rim template and along the length of the carrier board. This line is a radial of the center point of the rim template. The two additional lines are parallel to the radial line, and are offset .25". These lines are also on the rim template, and are used to align the template to the spindle sander. The hardwood guides are attached to be parallel to the radial line, and equidistant from the line. The guides should allow the sled to slide freely, with little or no play.
