Inlays on Ode longneck

Posted 8/24/2015 1:23:56 PM

Just finished reassembling an Ode model 33 grade 1. I got it on ebay a while back. Cleaned it up, put on a new head, and decided I wanted inlays for the neck to replace the white dots that were becoming opaque. I asked the folks at Custom Pearl Inlay about getting a set of inlays I'd seen in the Ode catalog (from 1964). They didn't have the pattern, but they looked at the picture I had, and made a pattern from that. They gave me what I thought was a great price, so I had them cut the inlays, then do the inlay work. The result (to me) was amazing. You can't see any filler around the inlays at all, which makes me think the holes were cut to the exact size of the inlay. I'd recommend these folks to anyone wanting inlays (for you to do) or inlaying (they do the work). Couldn't be happier.
