Tack the flattened plastic from the 2-liter bottle to the table with 4 tacks, just to keep it from curling and/or shifting. Sand the half-inch which will overlap the center hole, so the epoxy will hold better. Then mix up some slow-set epoxy, and apply it to the banjo body. Set the body, epoxy side down, onto the plastic, and clamp it.
