Emiel, did this change the tone, response, or volume vs an unpainted Renaissance head? I like the translucent appearance of a Renaissance head on a Nechville, but much prefer a more traditional look on a ball bearing. Let me know. Thanks!

It's a long time ago, but I do remember it changed the tone. More like a frosted head. When sprayed at the bottom, the new color of the head was greenish, not so nice. But the color of the Ren. head varies, so other Ren. heads may give other results. Anyway, I wasn't too fond about the appearance nor the tone. I do like frosted heads. For the BB I prefer the Five Star frosted, the Remo Renaissance and the Taiwan Remo top-frosted. Unlike on other banjos, a thinly frosted Remo sounds a bit thin in the BB.
